The name of “Kohakuto” comes from Japanese words “Kohaku” which means amber and “to” means sugar. Kohakuto is traditional Japanese confectionery made from boiled sugar and malt syrup. It’s known for distinctive amber color and transparent appearance similar to amber gemstone. Whilst, the word “Moriawase” means a selection, assorted, or a platter. Hence, “Kohakuto Moriawase” means selections of Kohakuto.

Kohakuto is often crafted in various shapes, sometimes resembling flowers, leaves, or other natural elements. It’s transparent appearance makes it visually appealing and it is often considered as as a work of art in addition being a confection.

Kohakuto can vary in sweetness and flavours, depending on the type of flavors and other ingredients. Our Kohakutos’ flavours are greatly inspired by our signature drinks: Strawberry Coffee, Long Black Coffee, Hippie Matcha, and Osmanthus Sprakler. Those are all wrapped up in our Kohakuto’s signature flavours.

Kohakuto’s shape and design showcase artistry and craftmanship of Japanese confectionery making. It’s a treat for both the eyes and the taste buds. Also, the transparent apperance of Kohakuto is reflecting the Japanese appreciation for beauty of nature.
